Random Ramblings

1. Thanks for your incredibly kind comments regarding my prom pictures. I don’t post pictures of myself that often but y’all made me feel great! Seriously, with super sweet comments like that, who needs sugar in their life? Not me! (at least not for 4 more days!)

2. I haven’t posted a recipe in forever. Mostly because either a) I follow a recipe pretty closely and while I may share a link to it or whatever, I don’t feel like it’s mine to take credit for. Or 2) I don’t follow a recipe whatsoever and it’s kind of hard to share something without any measurements or anything. Hopefully that will be changing soon though!

3. I’m considering making The Flourishing Foodie twitter. But, I’m afraid no one will follow me and what fun is a twitter with like 2 followers? Lame.

4. I’m super excited to make Peanut Butter Stuffed Hot Fudge Cupcakes for Easter. With a title like that, how can they not be delicious?

5. I would really love to go gluten, dairy, and sugar-free for a week. I can’t seem to find the motivation to actually do so. I actually think gluten may be the cause of my perpetual headaches. If it is the cause I may cry. I love bread way too much.

7. If you have any comments or suggestions for my blog or things you’d like to see me post about in the future, please let me know :)

8. I have a half day of school tomorrow, no school Friday or Monday and am missing school Tuesday for tennis. Long weekend  much? Life is good.

Anything random you’d like to ramble about? I’m all ears!

  1. I’m reducing my gluten intake right now…not completely eliminating it, because I really love the fresh bread we get here, but I feel better when I eat less of it!
Today has been super crazy because I’ve been trying to get everything together for my scholarship package….plus my regular school work!

  2. hooray for the long weekend! Enjoy it all. And how good do those Peanut Butter Stuffed Hot Fudge Cupcakes look? YUM! Love your prom dress- so cute.

  3. Hey girl! Thanks so much for your sweet comment! The recipe in Food Network Magazine was actually my inspiration behind those pancakes! I’m gluten-free so I knew I had to find another alternative. Coconut flour is pretty amazing…have you tried it?

I’m so excited to see your Peanut Butter Stuffed Hot Fudge Cupcakes! They look amaaazing! I’m sure they’ll be the hit of your Easter festivities!

  4. ok WOW for a second I swear I thought I was reading my own blog! haha I just posted all my prom pics too (as you obvs. know!) and I also hadn’t posted a good recipe in awhile and it was like total deja-vu reading this post!! I’m headed to check out your prom pics now!

  5. I’m so sorry about your headaches!!! I used to get stomach aches, and then I found that it was the dairy I was eating that was giving it to me. It waas really hard to give it up, but at least Almond Milk and Soy Yogurt keep me sane. :)

    YAY for half days! :D

  6. I could never give up gluten. then again i’ve said I couldn’t give up other things that I’ve definitely managed to give up… I wanna try no sugar for a little bit but I have been too busy to think enough about my food… and I”m a kind of obsessive baker.

I love the cupcakes that looks amazing!!!

  7. I have so much respect for those who are gluten free or any other restricted diet for that matter. It would be so hard to go out to eat and even eat at a party!! I tried going dairy free for only a week and it just about killed me haha.

  8. I told myself I would try to give up gluten for a week but I’m too obsessed with oats. I can’t do it :( And I would follow you on twitter!! :D

  9. Ohh I don’t think I could EVER give up gluten…or dairy. I love yogurt, cheese, and milk too much. Not to mention oats and bread…mmmm :)

And I’d definitely follow you on twitter; I say go for it girl!

  10. I don’t know if I could ever give up gluten either! That being said, I just went the last week pretty much gluten free because of Rudi’s gluten free bread that I found at the store last week. But without that, I couldn’t do it! Like you, I love bread way too much! I used to joke that I could live on bread and water (and I still think that I could ;) )

And those cupcakes look so YUM!! :D
