I hope everyone had an absolutely wonderful thanksgiving! I did but, sadly, I did not take one picture the entire day. Beginning Wednesday, my mom, dad, 2 sisters, brother and I were all together at home. All of us being so scattered apart because of various education and work, this has become quite the rarity.
Wednesday night we enjoyed a nice family dinner
to which I contributed a spinach salad.
Featuring goat cheese, (I find it doesn’t bother me the way other dairy does) a white balsamic, olive oil and honey dressing, and of course pomegranate arils.
Saturday we all headed out the door around 7:15 to do a 5 mile Turkey Trot with, ya-know, over 17,000 other people. There were so many people there! It’s great to get out and get some exercise before being sedentary and eating too much; guess we’re not the only people who think that. We then spent the rest of the day with lots of family and watched A&M beat UT! Whoop!
All in all, a great thanksgiving; so much to be thankful for!
How was your thanksgiving?
Do you eat turkey on thanksgiving? If so, do you do it because you like it or because it’s tradition.
My family decided that next year we are NOT having turkey or the traditional thanksgiving fare since, while we enjoyed it yesterday, there are other foods we like much better.
Enjoy your Friday!

17000 people at a 5 miler?? Dangg! I bet it was fun, though.
I didn’t have any turkey simply because I’m a pescatarian..but also we went with an non-traditional Italian-themed dinner. As much as I love the traditional food, it was fun to mix it up a bit.
Aren’t pomegranate seeds wonderful in salad? With the goat cheese and spinach, I imagine that was one of the highlights of the dinner spread
Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We have all of the traditional dishes at our Thanksgiving, but my family adapts all the recipes to be vegetarian for me (with the exception of the turkey). With so many delicious dishes, I don’t even notice there’s no turkey on my plate
Yum! That salad looks so good
I’m glad you had a nice family dinner- giving thanks is definitely not something we should do only once a year. My Thanksgiving was really fun, and we eat turkey both because it’s tradition and because we like it
Hope to talk to ya soon!

I’m not a fan of turkey! I eat a little just to get into the spirit, but to be honest I’d rather eat a quorn burger- so much tastier!!
sounds like a good Thanksgiving!
We have turkey at our Thanksgiving (mine was a month ago since I’m Canadian) but I don’t eat it since I don’t eat meat. Now our Thanksgiving is traditional but at the same time it isn’t since I’m starting to introduce new dishes into it.
